Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic Care is non-invasive treatment that provides relief from back, neck, joint and headache pain along many other conditions. It restores our body’s proper alignment through spinal manipulation which reduces the pressure on pinched nerves and compressed discs. This safe and effective treatment provides pain relief without the use of medications.

The spine is the lifeline for the nervous system. Chiropractic adjustments realign the spine to increase joint mobility while releasing spinal pressure caused by injuries or repetitive movements. The vertebrae of the spine can become misaligned due to many different reasons. Also known as subluxations, this misalignment of the vertebrae may occur gradually over time due to poor posture, poor sleeping habits, childhood injury or obesity. Misalignment may also happen suddenly as the result of an accident. When the vertebrae are misaligned, it can cause compressed discs and pinched nerves. Because the nervous system travels throughout the body, this can cause pain and dysfunction in many different areas. By using gentle pressure to realign the vertebrae, the chiropractic adjustment is a non-invasive procedure that corrects spinal alignment without surgery or medicine. For those suffering from chronic pain, such as back pain, neck pain, or sciatica, chiropractic adjustments are better suited for alleviating pain than medications. Medicines only work by reducing the brain’s ability to perceive pain. On the other hand, a chiropractic adjustment gets to the root of the problem by correcting what is causing the pain in the first place and eliminating the source of the pain. This allows for ongoing pain relief without reliance on pain medications or surgery.

General FAQs.

What is the popping noise that occurs when a joint is adjusted?

The popping sound frequently heard during a chiropractic adjustment is the release of a gas bubble from between the joints. This is the same thing that happens when someone “cracks” their knuckles. This change of pressure within the joint relives the compression that is causing pain.

Are chiropractic adjustment treatments painful?

While you will feel pressure from the chiropractor’s hands, chiropractic therapy is typically not painful. On the contrary, these spinal manipulations provide relief that may occur instantly or require multiple sessions for severe cases.

Is chiropractic care safe?

Patients typically do not experience discomfort after receiving chiropractic treatment. Occasional mild soreness or aches similar to what might be experienced after exercise may occur, however this discomfort is only temporary and should go away within a day or two.
